DCL (micro_DCL) - DCL Emulator V0.1 (10-JAN-1992)
By Michel Valentin

*   What is DCL ?

        DCL is a small DCL-like command interpreter.

        You may use it as a command shell if you need some features
        lacking in MSDOS (like COPY /SINCE or DEL /CONF).
        You may also use it if you want to build procedure files in
        a more powerful language than batch.

        I wrote DCL just for the fun during my holydays and anyone who
        likes it is free to use or distribute it (provided that no fee
        will be charged).

        I have been treating it more like a curiosity than a serious tools
        although I did my best to make it workable but if anyone wants to
        use it on a more regular basis, i will do the effort to enhance
        and debug it properly.

        Anyway, enjoy DCL like I enjoyed making it !

*   INSTALLING DCL

        To install DCL perform the following command at the DOS prompt:

        XCOPY S: T:\DCL /S

        where S: is the source disk
              T:\DCL is the target disk and directory

        You can choose any directory name, but a subdirectory named
        HELP will be created. (It is necessary to run the HELP command).

*   RUNNING DCL

        Type DCL at the dos prompt to get the DCL command prompt or
        type DCL dcl-command to invoke DCL to execute the specified
        command and exit.

        Ex: DCL @ABC.DCL will run the procedure file named ABC.DCL,
        and return back to MSDOS.

        Note that DCL.EXE need not to be in the DOS path.

        To exit DCL, type the LOGOUT command.

        To get help, type the HELP command.

        At startup, DCL will search it's home directory (the directory
        where DCL.EXE is located) for a file named LOGIN.DCL (or any
        other file extension defined in the DCL.INI file) and will
        run it before running any other command.

        At logout it will do the same with a file named LOGOUT.DCL.

*   FILES

        The following files are present on the DCL diskette :

        o README.1ST    -       This file.
        o DCL.EXE       -       The main program
        o DCL.INI       -       The configuration file.
        o *.DCL - Various samples and test procedure
                                files.
        o HELP\HYPERTXT.EXE The HELP hypertext engine.
        o HELP\*.HTX    -       The HELP files.
