Troubleshooting
---------------
Problem
When you use the Ribbon 131 font, the characters g, j, p, q, or y
do not print below 14 points on HP LaserJet(R) Series II or IIP
printers.

Solution
WordPerfect 6.0a (and above) for DOS corrects this problem. Contact
WordPerfect Corporation to obtain this interim release.

Note
This font pack was designed for use with WordPerfect 6.0 for
DOS. These fonts have not been extensively tested with Bitstream
FaceLift for WordPerfect 5.x.

Installation
------------
To find out how to install typefaces, refer to the Bitstream
FaceLift for WordPerfect User Guide.

Troubleshooting
---------------
Problem
A typeface may not print correctly in Bitstream FaceLift for
WordPerfect 5.x if you have a similar typeface in the same
typeface family. For example, Broadway(TM) Engraved does not
print correctly if you also have Broadway Regular installed.
Similarly, Swiss(TM) 721 Bold Rounded does not print correctly
if you also have Swiss 721 Bold installed.

Solution
You must completely remove the other typeface, as shown below.
For example, you must remove Broadway Regular before you can
use Broadway Engraved.

Keep in mind that you must remove the other typeface only if
you have both typefaces.

Examples: (The fonts shown below may not be in your font package.)
To use this typeface, remove this typeface
-------------------- --------------------
Broadway Engraved Broadway Regular
Shelley(R) Allegro Shelley Andante
Shelley Volante Shelley Andante
Shelley Volante Shelley Allegro
Swiss 721 Bold Rounded Swiss 721 Bold
Swiss 721 Black Rounded Swiss 721 Black

To remove a Speedo typeface from FaceLift 2.0 for
WordPerfect 5.x, use the LOADTYPE option in FLSETUP. To remove
a Speedo typeface from FaceLift 1.5 for WordPerfect 5.x, delete
the typeface files from your hard disk using the DOS Delete
command. See your Bitstream FaceLift for WordPerfect User Guide
for details about removing typefaces.

To use the typefaces you deleted, you must re-install them. See
the FaceLift for WordPerfect User Guide for details on
installing typefaces.

Problem
In FaceLift 2.0 for WordPerfect, some accented characters created
with WordPerfect's compose code feature do not print correctly on
HP LaserJet Series II and IIP printers, if the FLSETUP option
"Download needed characters only" is set to No.

For example, you use the compose code 1,30 to make the capital A
with umlaut in the Bitstream International Character Set (BICS).
However, your LaserJet Series II or IIP may print out a different
BICS character (such as the <, which has a compose code of 0,60)
or a character in the Courier font.

Another example: you try to make characters that are not in BICS,
particularly those in WP character set 1, with codes 102, 108,
and 120. When printing your document, you may receive memory
error messages on the front panel of your Series II or IIP
printer; or you may get a soft page break you didn't want.

Solution
Start FaceLift for WordPerfect. In FLSETUP, under the menu option
"Review an Installed Printer," set "Download needed characters
only" to Yes. If you use a lot of fonts in your documents, you
may also have to use less than 16 fonts per page.

Note
FaceLift for WordPerfect does not support characters outside the
Bitstream International Character Set (BICS). Refer to your
FaceLift for WordPerfect User Guide for more information about
character sets.

Bitstream FaceLift for Microsoft Windows Users
****************************************************************

Note
This font pack was designed for use with WordPerfect 6.0 for
DOS. These fonts have not been extensively tested with Bitstream
FaceLift for Windows.

Installation
------------
To find out how to install typefaces, refer to the Bitstream
FaceLift for Microsoft Windows User Guide.

Font Names
----------
Bitstream has expanded its library of Speedo typefaces. During
this expansion, Bitstream made the names of some of its new
typefaces longer than 16 characters in order to maintain unique
and memorable typeface names.

Bitstream FaceLift 2.0 for Microsoft Windows, a typeface
management utility, has an internal limit of 16 characters for
Speedo font names. Therefore, after you install the Speedo
typefaces, you'll find that some of the new Speedo font names
in Windows font menus are clipped.

Note that Bitstream Speedo font names end in "BT," as in
"EngraversGothic BT"; the BT indicates that the font is made
by Bitstream.

Names that are 19 characters long have the last three
characters clipped (usually, the space and BT, as in " BT").
Names that are 18 characters long end in a space. Names that
are 17 characters long end in a space and B, as in " B."

The name clipping does not affect how the fonts in this pack work
with FaceLift for Windows or other Windows applications.

******************************************************************
All Other DOS Applications
******************************************************************

Bitstream Speedo fonts can be used in several DOS applications.
They may be called Bitstream fonts, Bitstream Scalable fonts, or
Speedo fonts in your application's documentation.

Note
This font pack was designed for use with WordPerfect 6.0 for
DOS. These fonts have not been extensively tested with other DOS
applications.

Installation
------------
To find out how to install Bitstream Speedo typefaces into DOS
applications, refer to the user guide that came with your application.
look for any font installation or font adding directions. Also look
for the names Bitstream, Bitstream Scalable, or Speedo.

Using Bitstream Speedo Fonts in Your DOS Application
----------------------------------------------------
For information about using Bitstream Speedo typefaces in DOS
applications, refer to the user guide that came with your application.
Look for these words in the application menus or help files, and in the
documentation table-of-contents or indexes:
        font
        format
        point size
        softfont
        style
        type
        typeface

******************************************************************
Font File Names
******************************************************************

Each Bitstream Speedo font has two associated files, one .SPD file
and one .TDF file.

The .SPD file contains the typeface outline information. The .TDF
file contains some descriptive information about the font, inlcuding
menu names for some applications. Both of these files are needed for
installation into WordPerfect 6.x.

On the font disk is a TYPEFACE.TXT file. This file lists all the
fonts from that subdirectory in alphabetical order. It also lists
the font file name, the WordPerfect font menu name, and the
Windows font menu name.

Open TYPEFACE.TXT in any text editor or WordPerfect.

For example, here are the first two entries in the TYPEFACE.TXT
file stored in the A_C subdirectory of TTFONTS.
