Word for DOS
(ver 5.5a)
Commercial made Abandoned Freeware

This is a FREEWARE release of Microsoft 'Word for DOS' (ver 5.5a), a
professional word processing program. I believe that this is the
International English version (the US English version has also been
re-released as Freeware, but Microsoft no longer offers it on their
website). Unlike older versions of Microsoft Word, this version is
supposedly Y2K compliant. Microsoft no longer supports this program.

Although most serious writers prefer WordPerfect, Word is Freeware,
and some casual users comment that its interface feels more familiar.
