[Q] Do you intend to upgrade the program?

[A] Probably, but so far there's no schedule for revisions. It'll
depend mostly on how much feedback I get. If people want a whole
bunch of new features, then that'll be impetus to get cracking.
Another thing that would help are some contributions for the
Ragamuffin Galaxy (or another one if someone wants to create an
entirely new one).

I began work on the Ragamuffin setting (and this program) back in
'95, started soliciting ideas from various people on the net... we
even had a mailing list going (the archives are included in this
package). Then, around the beginning of '96, I got sidetracked by
other projects, and it was probably a good thing too. Starmap was
still relatively primitive, and some of the ideas I had about
organizing the data just weren't practical for an expanding
software package. Now it's '98, and after having programmed various
other mapping freewares (Worldmap, Mapper, and Galactic, as well as
Sysmap and Hexworld which are both included with Starmap), I've
finally gained the bag of tricks necessary to complete Starmap.

This is where the fun begins.

With the initial version of Starmap complete, it is now a
relatively simple matter to renew work on the Ragamuffin SF-RPG. My
goal, with this, is to create a set of rules as well as a detailed
campaign background, and to do it, I'm gonna need a lot of help. If
you're interested in lending a hand, drop me some email. And if you
happen to create an entirely new galaxy or a subprogram that you'd
like to contribute to the next release, please let me know. I'm
always looking for new ideas and new material.
